Best time of the year to plant new shrubs is now.
by Tony Cordes on 09/30/11
One of the best times of the year to install your new trees and shrubs in your landscape is in the fall. Cooler weather helps to reduce transplant shock and with less heat stress, your new plant material will flourish.
Many times I'm asked the question, doesn't snow damage the roots and growth of the plants? You may assume that snow would damage your freshly planted plants, however, the answer is just the opposite. Snow acts as an insulator for the root balls and will provide much needed moisture for the plants in the spring.
If you're thinking about updating your landscape and are reluctant to have the work done before winter, don't worry, your plants will thank you for it and flourish when spring comes around.
If you have any questions or concerns about your landscape, feel free to contact us and we will be happy to help you in any way we can.
